The first commercial chilli powder became available in 1894. William Gebhardt from Texas imported some Ancho Peppers from Mexico and dried them and then pushed them through a meat grinder 3 times!

Chillies have been found to have originated in the Central Eastern region of Mexico. Culpepers Chilli Ground presently comes from India!
